Nepal Floods: Send Urgent Aid Today

Your generosity will directly help people with disabilities, including survivors of disaster and conflict around the world who are too often forgotten.

On August 26, a massive wave of mud and ice tore through northern Nepal, destroying entire villages, bridges, and roads. The death toll continues to rise, and rescue teams are searching for the missing. Humanity & Inclusion's teams are already on the ground. Our team is mobilizing to provide emergency supplies, mobilitiy aids, mental health support, and rehabilitation care to communities affected by this disaster.

"A disaster of this scale is extremely traumatic. Most of the victims have lost everything they had."

-Gilles Nouzies
HI Regional Director for Southeast Asia

"People have been injured in the disaster and HI was quickly called upon by the Department of Health... One of our key priorities is to ensure that the emergency response is truly inclusive, taking particular account of people with disabilities..."

-Rajesh Chandra
HI Nepal

HI has been responding to disasters like this one for over 40 years. We know they often strike without warning and almost always disproportionately affect people with disabilities. Our emergency teams are prepared to provide the most important and immediate needs, including:

  • essential emergency items like blankets and soap
  • rehabilitation and assistive devices for those with injuries and disabilities
  • mental health support for those dealing with severe trauma

We can't do this work without people like you. Your gift today can change lives and bring hope to people who have lost everything. Every dollar you give strengthens our ability to provide immediate and long-term assistance to those who need it most.

HI works in coordination with the Nepal Government and SWC (Social Welfare Council), LCDMS (Leprosy Control and Disability Management Section) and HEOC (Health Emergency Operation Center) and different local partners and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities. Humanity & Inclusion has been working in Nepal since 2000 and has extensive experience responding to large-scale disasters. Because of that history and years of coordinating with local partners and authorities, Nepal's Department of Health has called on HI for help amid the flooding. Our objective is to provide targeted assistance where our teams and expertise can have the greatest impact.
