HI worked in Moldova with the aim of promoting a humanitarian response that is disability-inclusive and tailored to the needs of people with disabilities, focusing on the empowerment and capacity-building of national organizations of people with disabilities. These activities centered on analyzing barriers to humanitarian aid and accessibility work.
Between 2022 and 2023, HI also carried out activities in the areas of mental health support and protection. This project aimed to improve existing services and support refugee populations and host communities in the face of the difficulties caused by the armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Furthermore, HI worked to build the capacity of healthcare workers and social workers in the field of mental health, and organized fundraising campaigns to improve living conditions for local people, providing items such as small space heaters, stationery, and toys for children, etc.
