CHERNIHIV, UKRAINE—Humanity & Inclusion condemns the missile strike targeting a humanitarian demining site in Ukraine
Humanity & Inclusion (HI) expresses its deep sorrow and solidarity following the tragic incident near Chernihiv, Ukraine, in which two humanitarian workers from the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) lost their lives and eight others were injured.
These colleagues were engaged in life-saving humanitarian work aimed at protecting civilians from the devastating impact of explosive ordnance. Their dedication and sacrifice remind us of the extreme risks faced by humanitarian personnel operating in conflict-affected areas.
HI strongly condemns any attack on humanitarian workers and reiterates the fundamental principle of their protection under International Humanitarian Law. The safety and neutrality of humanitarian missions must be upheld at all times.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of those affected, and stand in solidarity with the broader humanitarian community in Ukraine.
As a long-standing partner of DRC in Ukraine, HI remains committed to supporting inclusive, rights-based assistance for conflict-affected populations. We stand in solidarity with our colleagues and reaffirm our shared mission to safeguard civilian lives and dignity.
