Teams distribute hygiene kits in earthquake's aftermath

Four months after a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti, Humanity & Inclusion's emergency response continues with the distribution of hygiene kits to people with disabilities.

As of Nov. 17, Humanity & Inclusion's team has distributed 301 hygiene kits to people living with disabilities as well as organizations that represent people with disabilities.

The kits include:

  • 12 units of soap
  • 5 packs of sanitary napkins
  • 5 tooth brushes
  • 2 tubes of toothpaste
  • 4 rolls of toilet paper
  • 2 towels
  • 2 bags of laundry detergent
  • 2 jerrycans
  • 1 bucket with a tap for hand-washing

For kits distributed to people receiving rehabilitation care, a sponge and dish soap are also included to clean assistive devices.

By early 2022, the goal is to distribute approximately 1,500 hygiene kits with the help of Humanity & Inclusion's local partner FONTEN, a rehabilitation center in Les Cayes.
