On the occasion of the 300 days of armed violence in Gaza, calls for a permanent ceasefire have gone unanswered. Below is a statement from Florence Daunis, Humanity & Inclusion’s International Programs Director:
“300 days into the relentless war in Gaza, civilians are without safe shelters, adequate medical treatment, food, or basic supplies. Forced to relocate repeatedly due to evacuation orders, they suffer death and injuries. With 1.9 million people currently internally displaced, calls for a permanent ceasefire have gone unanswered, leaving the affected population to bear the brunt of this crisis. Efforts must be intensified to secure a permanent ceasefire - as well as for the release of any captives and hostages. Safety remains out of reach across all of Gaza.
In addition, the longer the war in Gaza continues, the higher the risk of a regional war that will cause massive destruction and humanitarian impact across the Middle East.”
