Humanity & Inclusion donors ensure that no one is left on the sidelines of aid!
Right now, our teams are responding to crises in Ukraine, Haiti, Madagascar, the Philippines, Yemen and beyond.
Your tax-deductible donation helps people with disabilities, survivors of natural disasters and conflict, and other communities facing extreme hardship to reclaim their lives and dignity.
We make every dollar you give count:
$40 can provide psychosocial support to refugee families
$75 can provide one year of physical therapy
$150 can provide a custom-fit wheelchair
Every gift, small or large, makes a real difference to the lives of people with disabilities around the world. Your gift will be used wherever the need is greatest. Thank you.

Create a peer-to-peer fundraiser
Motivate your network to help raise critical funds to support Humanity & Inclusion’s work. Right now, we're facing COVID-19 head on. With donor support, teams continue to raise awareness about the virus, distribute masks and personal hygiene supplies, and offer tele-rehabilitation when Covid restrictions warrant it. We are focusing our support on ensuring that people with disabilities or chronic health conditions, people with injuries, refugees, and especially older people, are included in the response.
Crowdfunding campaigns are an excellent way to raise money from friends and family members!
Here are a few ideas to get you started.
- Challenge yourself to virtual run, walk, bike, swim, or climb while challenging others to support you.
- Dedicate your birthday or holiday to Humanity & Inclusion by asking your friends, family, and coworkers to donate.
- Celebrate your wedding, anniversary, graduation or other life event while making a difference.
Create a fundraiser on a platform like Go Fund Me Charity or via Facebook. You could also create a fundraiser right here on our website! See instructions on setting up your page below, Need help? Reach out to us—we're real people—and we'll do the work for you! Email us on [email protected].
Be creative and have fun motivating your personal network to share your commitment! And THANK YOU for supporting Humanity & Inclusion!

Ways to Give a Legacy Gift
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCDs)
Donor-Advised Funds (DAF)
Have you updated your legacy-planning strategy to include Humanity & Inclusion as a beneficiary?
You can designate Humanity & Inclusion as a beneficiary for:
- Retirement plans: 401(k), 403 (b), IRA
- Life insurance policies
- Donor-advised funds
- Commercial annuities
- Bank accounts
When you're ready, making an organization the beneficiary of your assets is typically straightforward:
- Request and fill out a designated beneficiary form through your employer or your plan administrator. Most banks and financial firms also have beneficiary forms, or they can provide you with suggested language for naming beneficiaries to your accounts.
- On the beneficiary form, decide what percentage (up to 100%) you would like us to receive and name Humanity & Inclusion as the beneficiary. Please use our Federal Tax Identification number: 55-0914744 in place of a social security number.
- Once the designated beneficiary forms are in place, the retirement assets will generally pass directly to your beneficiaries (including organizations like Humanity & Inclusion) without issue.
Your investment can help shape programs that sustain deserving communities beyond our respective lifetime.
A simple way to establish your legacy is to designate Humanity & Inclusion as a beneficiary of your will and trust. You can designate a specific dollar amount, a particular asset, such as securities or real estate, or leave a percentage of your estate, or the residual of your estate, after providing for loved ones.
Specific Bequests allow you to designate a percentage of your estate, a dollar amount, or specified assets as a gift to Humanity & Inclusion.
I give, devise and bequeath __________ [state a % or $ amount, or specific property or other asset] to Humanity & Inclusion, located in Silver Spring, Maryland, to be used for its general purposes [or for a particular program or purpose].
Residual Bequests allow you to designate the remaining residue of your estate as a gift to Humanity & Inclusion, after the payment of all expenses and specific bequests to other beneficiaries have been made.
I give, devise and bequeath to Humanity & Inclusion, located in Silver Spring, Maryland, all [or state a percentage] of the rest and residue of my estate to be used for its general purposes [or for a particular
program or purpose].

How it works:
- Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to Humanity & Inclusion
- Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to Humanity & Inclusion to help continue our important work
- Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction
- Please contact us if you wish for your gift to be used for a specific purpose

Legacy-Building Decisions: Making a Gift through Your Donor-Advised-Fund
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a philanthropic giving tool that allows you contribute cash and other assets into an investment account that grows tax-free. You'll receive an immediate tax deduction for your contributions and can recommend grants to be distributed by your DAF's sponsoring organization over time to your charity of choice, like Humanity & Inclusion. By utilizing a donor-advised fund, you can benefit from tax incentives while creating a lasting legacy through strategic giving.
You can initiate a grant recommendation from your donor-advised fund (DAF) directly to Humanity & Inclusion in three easy ways:
Find your DAF, and set up a one-time, or recurring grant to Humanity & Inclusion.
Make a one-time gift
Contact your DAF administrator and recommend a one-time grant directly to Humanity & Inclusion.
Please make checks payable to Handicap International dba Humanity & Inclusion.
Establish a recurring, monthly or quarterly gift
Initiate an automatic monthly or quarterly gift from your Donor Advised Fund is one of the easiest ways to provide year-round support to the communities we serve.
If you're already a regular donor, you can set up your gifts to come from your DAF instead of your checking account or credit card.
Create your legacy
Designate Humanity & Inclusion as a beneficiary of all or a portion of your funds remaining in your Donor Advised Fund.
When making your grant recommendation, please use the following information:
Handicap International dba Humanity & Inclusion
8757 Georgia Ave, Suite 420
Silver Spring, MD 20910
EIN/tax ID number: 55-0914744
Please provide your name and/or fund name and address so we can thank you for your generous gift.
Let us know!
Sometimes, DAF gifts arrive without information identifying the generous donor.
We always honor the requests of our donors, but if you perhaps set a gift to be anonymous in error, and haven't heard from us (we love to say Thanks!), then please let us know so we can shower you with some appreciation.
Please reach out at any time! Simply contact Mica Bevington, U.S. Director of Communications and Development, at (240) 450-3531 or [email protected].
